The hardest part about this whole process is choosing the photo you want to use for your poster. Here are a few tips on selecting one:

If you are doing a Hollywood movie theme, select a photo/s that ressembles the poses in the poster you’ve selected as close as possible.

Choose an expressive photo, candid shots that show you and your spouse smiling, laughing, or stuck in each other’s eyes. Most of the time the facial expressions will tell the story more than any graphics ever could.

Consider not using a portrait photo (*yikes*). We know you may have a wonderful photo of you and your spouse with the perfect yearbook smile, but we want your poster to look like more than just a photo with words on it. In the end it is ultimately your decision, but in our experience, candid photos usually make a better poster. Most couples choose the nice portrait photo as the one that goes over the fireplace anyway.

If you don’t like the photo, don’t select it! Sure, it may work perfectly for the theme, but this is something you’ll be looking at forever, so make sure you absolutely love the photo.
